Services & Types of Support

Let us find the best way to support you

One-on-One Weekly Sessions

We work with the majority of our students on a weekly basis, meeting one-on-one in person at our office in Downtown Bend, or on Zoom. This format has proven to be the best way to develop executive function skills, academic strategies, and confidence as you make progress towards your personal and educational goals. Instead of focusing on the completion of assignments and projects, as in traditional tutoring sessions, we emphasize the motivation, thinking, and emotional relationship with school and tasks. However, for certain students with heightened executive function challenges, we will spend more time completing work.

  • The majority of these appointments happen between 4-7pm Sunday through Friday for K-12 students. College students and students with other openings in their schedules will be earlier in the day.

Typically, scheduling is one of the trickiest parts as we try to find openings in our busy students schedules, and there are only so many hours in the week outside of the school schedule.

  • Most of our students meet with us weekly, but some meet twice a week, and some meet every other week, as it depends on the students individual situation and needs.

We also offer shortened sessions as a 'check-in' in the latter part of the week to boost accountability and follow-through.

  • For certain students parents attend every session, but for many students we try to emphasize that they are responsible for their own progress and success, and have them attend by themselves.

We do invite parents to attend sessions occasionally and welcome their guidance, perspectives, and collaboration.

  • The value of setting up weekly sessions is that you will have reserved that slot in the clinician's schedule. At intake, we will discuss which educational therapist and coach is the best fit for your students' needs and trajectory.

Collaboration and Consultation

Single or Multiple Focused Sessions

Instead of weekly support, many families and students benefit from a collaborative meeting focused around a specific topic or objective. Common topics include:

  • Family support and structure around ADHD management at home.

  • Psycho-Education about ADHD, Executive Function, and Learning Disabilities.

  • Educational Consultation around school choice, or finding additional resources, professionals, or placements.

  • Specific skill building around test-taking, organization, or academic skills.

  • Parenting strategies and skills or raising adolescents.

  • Consultation for pursuing college after in-patient treatment, wilderness therapy, rehabilitation, or other non-traditional experiences.

  • Psycho-Educational Assessment Review/Debrief and translation to implementation.

  • Family mediation and intervention.

  • YouScience Career and Skills Assessment, debriefing with Scott.

  • All sessions take place in our downtown office in Bend, or on Zoom. We hold individual openings for these sessions and try to make them readily available for families.

  • Most sessions are facilitated by Scott, and occasionally another clinician will collaborate or attend. All information discussed during these is considered confidential.

  • We can collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, school personnel, and consultants to facilitate your comprehensive support.

Individual Ed Therapy/Coaching Sessions

Expert support that makes your good even better.

For students needing only coaching sessions without any bells and whistles, and are customized to your needs, goals, and specific timing within the term. This is ideal for students after establishing a relationship with a coach or in times of high need. Availability varies per term. This is ideal for:

  • Organizing before an upcoming term.

  • Honing and building specific academic skill sets.

  • Creating plans and strategies for upcoming assessment/exam.

Classes, Workshops, and Trainings

We love working in larger formats as well and regularly offer trainings and classes to meet the needs of an organization and the community. Please follow the links to our pages dedicated for group classes and professional trainings on Executive Function.
